The bitter cold has no end in sight. Single to negative digits are in the foreseeable forecast and there is no warmth in sight. Snow continues to pile outside. Cabin fever is setting in. Daylight seems to be lasting longer, giving me hope for springs arrival soon.
We made it through tax season without straining our sanity, however long nights of pain from the winter cold are testing our will. In anticipation of spring, we built a concrete forge this week, and so begins the agonizing wait for warmer weather to use it.
Ok, in all seriousness here is a more up to date life update for the Thrush Family:
Life threw us another curve ball by gracing us with a flat tire during a recent -50 degrees snow storm , but thanks to insurance and amazing people in town, that problem will soon be solved!
This next week marks 3 years that we have been together and since the start of our courtship. This last Friday (the 8th) was Cole’s birthday. Although the bad road conditions meant we weren’t able to make it out of town as we had hoped, we still had a great day going to Applebee’s for lunch and seeing the 2nd LEGO movie in the evening. Thursday evening we had a family dinner with Coles fav cheese lasagna and a LEGO themed cake made by yours truly. The cold means that I’ve been having more arthritis and pain flares as well as greater fatigue than usual. While the cold weather can be a downer, having to spend more nights at home had allowed us the time to be able to finally put together our LEGO kit we got for Christmas. Cole and I both love legos so it’s nice to have a quiet activity that we can do together and relax after a long day. This was the Whomping Willow set. After only taking about 3 hours collectively to finish this kit, we are on to looking for a new one.
